They Say it’s Spring

I love spring.

I love everything about it. I love the budding trees, the anxious bulbs that all too early push their way up through the earth–I love the idea of spring. The season of death has past, stand back, life is about to explode once again in color and fragrance. Even though my wipers were push bits of frozen flakes off my windshield this morning on the way to work, in my heart it is once again spring.

Did I say I love spring?

Do you love spring? Oh, yeah…you said that. What I’ll miss about a Northwest springtime are the dogwood flower blooms. I used to love to see all the trees in full white glory all along Carpenter Road. We thought it was spring here–all that month-old snow and ice was almost all gone. Today we woke up to eight inches on the ground and stuff still coming down. But that’s OK. I’m trying to embrace it as a new Wisconsinite. I endure the winter since I know a brutal summer is around the corner. So you like spring? Me, too, but Fall is pretty good, too!
