I am so Glad I am Not a Cat!

Much has been said about the life of luxury that cats enjoy. What is not to love — nap, eat, sleep, yawn, snack, sleep some more.

However, as cats age and get a little squishy around the middle their owners are drawn to purchase at the local grocery such digestive delicacies as “Indoor Weight & Hairball Care” formula from Iams. (I am so glad that I am not a cat!) The only reason our cats (Zora and Oslo) were scarfing on the new Iams formula the moment Diane filled their bowls this evening is because it wasn’t Science Diet triangle-shaped cardboard cat food. Did I say how glad I am not a cat?

Diane and I, through a distinct lack of planning and with a yearning desire to rest and relax, spent New Years Eve solving a puzzle. The old bottle of champagne we opened at 11:30 proved to better suited for dressing a salad than for drinking — yuk!

All-in-all it was a sleepy, quiet evening at home with my sweetheart. Which is just fine!

Robb Shaffer’s Script Goes to Production!

Even when he was living here in Lacey, Robb Shaffer was writing scripts in hopes that they would someday go to production. Now living in Wisconsin Robb has written a script for his church’s Christmas production called “A Father’s Gift.”

Here’s Robb discussing a little about the production:

This year, our church produced a Christmas outreach entitled “A Father’s Gift”. Although you won’t be able to see the musical drama here, you can see some “behind the scenes” action. Maria played a towns-person and sang. I wrote the dialogue in collaboration with the musical director. It was a lot of fun, and lots of hard work on the part of many people.
